Homelessness is devastating at any time of year but at Christmas, when Manchester is full of party goers and people shopping for loved ones, the difference between those that have and those that don’t, is sadly easy to see. We know you want to make a difference so we've come up with some suggestions of how you can help bring Hope at this special time of year.

Give Hope to People Sleeping Rough in Our City

Barnabus support some of the most hard to reach people in our City and the harsh winter months are particularly life threatening for anyone on the streets. If you see someone sleeping rough spending a moment with them to show you care can mean so much. Please encourage them to come in and see us.

Barnabus helps people sleeping rough with accommodation, recovery from addictions, safeguarding and supporting physical needs; showers, food, clothing and mental health needs.

Festive Fundraising

We also hope you will have some  fun this Christmas with these festive fundraising suggestions, together we can change lives.

Reverse Advent Calendar

Turn the advent calendar idea on its head. Start off with an empty box and for every day that you would usually open an advent calendar put one of our suggested long-life food or clothing items in the box instead. Your gifts will ensure we have items to help our friends in the New Year and challenging winter period.

We hope you will join in this activity for you and your family, your church, group or school may also be interested, you’ll be surprised at how much you can collect together. To find out more and see our advent poster click the link here.
