In Memory Stephen Royston Brown 1959 - 2025 Steve and Irene supported Barnabus after they became Christians the year Barnabus launched in 1991. In 2000, they launched City Centre Ministries and we remember Steve and Irene driving around Manchester in an old converted ambulance with ‘Jesus Loves You’ displayed like a number plate on the front window. We would go out on our double decker bus and they would do the same in their ambulance. Over the years’ our ministries have touched many different lives but also intertwined. We have been praying or talking with friends off the streets and they would share how they would meet a couple on the street, and always mention a man with a guitar, full of love and faith. Steve was a born encourager, even if he only spoke with someone for a short while, he would deeply connect with that person. He knew how to make people who felt as if they had nothing or meant nothing to anyone; feel real worth, loved and that anything could be possible through the love of Jesus. In more, recent years’ Steve visited our Dwell and Light sessions at our Support Centre sharing testimonies of hope and helping us to lead people in worship on his guitar. No words can express our deep sadness at his passing, or how thankful we are for every life he touched. We are so privileged to have known him and hold him forever in our hearts. A legacy that lives on in lives renewed and now in Glory. We are so grateful and blessed by Irene, Hayley and Jason in asking for gifts in memory of Steve to support our work to help people journey off the streets of Manchester and into a home in Christ’s love.
