Volunteer with us HELP US REBUILD LIVES Our wonderful volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. They generously give their time, compassion, and talents to make a difference to those at risk of homelessness or living on Manchester’s streets. WHAT DOES VOLUNTEERING INVOLVE? Our support workers dedicate their efforts to making vital service referrals and helping people move into a new life. But this is only possible with your help. Volunteers welcome guests to our drop-in centre, serve food and drink, and ensure access to clean clothes and showers. We also need volunteers for some of our other projects including supporting our Housing Project and our Dwell Project. We consider our volunteers to be an integral part of our team. We aim to ensure that you benefit from ongoing training and development, as well as providing the opportunity to build friendships and community with fellow volunteers and staff through various events during the year. ABOUT YOU If you’re over the age of 18 and passionate about helping those in need, we’d love to hear from you. We welcome all skills and backgrounds – we only ask that you’re sympathetic to our values and respectful to our faith. Having a criminal record is often not a barrier to volunteering at Barnabus - we will look at each case individually. Please let us know if you want to discuss this before you apply. If you want to talk to us about any issues before you decide to apply, please contact Rose for a chat by emailing [email protected]. Barnabus is a Christian charity, but you do not need to be a Christian to volunteer with us. We do ask though that you are sympathetic to our Christian values and respectful of our faith. If you are interested in volunteering within one of our Christian-specific roles, please email [email protected].
