We continue to see rising numbers of homeless people in crisis coming to Barnabus for help. Despite this rise, we are constantly uplifted and encouraged by those who choose to take positive steps to start a new life off the streets.

We have faith in the power of prayer to bring hope to those taking these steps. Our faith is vital to the work we do and your prayers can make a huge difference, too. That’s why we feel blessed to have so many friends at churches across the city and beyond.

Barnabus could not share the healing love of Jesus without the care and support we get from our fellow Christians. We are particularly thankful for Shere Church in Surrey, who sponsor our IT room. Whether it’s making sandwiches, leading a God Slot session or sponsoring our projects – we give thanks and praise to everybody who plays a part in the work we do.

Matthew 25:35-40

 

‘For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

Then they asked ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

The Lord will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
