We need your help this autumn, please hold a harvest collection to keep our shelves stocked at our busiest times of the year, Christmas and Winter.

These are a particularly life threatening and challenging time of year for anyone sleeping rough in our city.; our priorities are keeping people fed, warm, dry and as safe as possible at our Support Centre. Thank you, together we can bring hope and transform lives.

We’d love to support your harvest festival with posters and flyers to make it the best success possible.

What is the Harvest Festival?

The Harvest Festival is a traditional time of celebration and thanks for a successful harvest and a time of plenty. Harvest festivals are often held in churches and schools, with people bringing donations of food to be shared with those less fortunate.

When is the Harvest Festival?

The Harvest Festival runs through September and October and you can choose any date which suits you. It is traditionally celebrated on the Sunday closest to the Harvest Moon which takes place around the Autumn Equinox, this year it is Sunday 5th October.

How does Harvest Festival support people experiencing homelessness?

Barnabus knows that people need much more than a warm meal to escape homelessness. But without that first warm cheese toasty welcome after a night on the streets we struggle to build the trust required to work with someone on their hard journey off the streets.

How can I get involved?

Create a Harvest celebration at your place of learning, worship or work.

This could be a collection table that can take 15 minutes to set up with some Barnabus posters or you could spend some time organising a harvest festival day and have a member of our team come down to speak to your school, congregation or staff.

Send a message out to everyone about the collection and why it’s important to supporting people experiencing homelessness in Manchester on their journey off the streets

How will Barnabus support me to do this?
