    Every Wednesday afternoon we host a music therapy session with Nordoff Robbins at the Beacon and one rainy day, Clive attended. Whilst speaking with him about music we found out that he used to play the clarinet, so the music therapist arranged to get a clarinet ready for the next music session.   • Homeless Outreach Nurse wins national award

    Congratulations to Liz Thomas at UVMP for winning the FSRH Nurse Spotlight Award, Liz was the first Homeless Outreach Nurse from UVMP to run a clinic at Barnabus’ Beacon Medical Suite. She received this award for her work with women experiencing homelessness who need a non judgemental, pro-active approach to their healthcare and sexual health. Read more

  • New mother flourishing after a dark and difficult year

    Claire* came to Barnabus with her partner. She had recently found out she was pregnant and needed somewhere safe, warm and dry to sleep. They were rough sleeping after having fled violence and modern-day slavery.  One of our caseworkers immediately flagged Claire as a high priority and managed to secure the pair a hostel room Tragically, the respite from her months of hardship was short-lived… Read more
